Pricing Plans for appMobi

Builds:

All test, QA and final builds are automated and included for all projects and for all supported platforms. Maximum turnaround time on submitted production builds is 24 hours.

Depending on the platform(s) you select for building, appMobi will return a signed binary app executable that is ready to be submitted to the appropriate app store. The developer is responsible for setting up a developer account with the app store, and providing ancillary files that get submitted with the app binary, such as 512x512 artwork, descriptive text, and 57x57 icon (in the case of the Apple app store).

Basic APIs:

Native app projects that need access to the most common native device features like the accelerometer, locking the screen, viewport, location, orientation, display management, vibration, sounds. The basic API works well for mobile web site projects that leverage appMobi for maximum compatibility on smart-devices (viewport, gestures, multi-touch).

Full APIs:

Basic API set plus APIs for projects that need access to advanced features like Google Analytics for collecting data on user actions, streaming Shoutcast media players, and PhoneGap-based functionality (camera, contacts, SMS, Maps, Telephone, SQLite).

PhoneGap API support:

appMobi allows you to forget about many of the more frustrating aspects of PhoneGap coding - including setting up a development environments for each platform, learning their toolsets (XCode on a Mac, Eclipse for Android), and creating container code for each platform.

Additionally, you can use the appMobi test containers to easily test your PhoneGap applications on the target devices - To do that with PhoneGap, you'd have to compile, build, and sign your app each time you test it. This API is your key to PhoneGap-based functionality (camera, contacts, SMS, Maps, Telephone, SQLite)

ShoutCast support:

Want your app to easily play any of the thousands of ShoutCast - formatted Internet radio stations? Or want to use ShoutCast to deliver your own private streamed content to your app? The ShoutCast API allows you to add that functionality to your app with a few lines of JavaScript.

WiFi-Only Test Containers:

appMobi provides innovative "Test Container" apps that let you test your app directly on the device you are targeting. The "WiFi" test containers allow you to test your app anywhere you have a WiFi connection, but do not work with your device's EDGE or 3G phone data network.

appMobi provides innovative "Test Container" apps that let you test your app directly on the device you are targeting. The "3G" test containers allow you to test your app anywhere you have a connection, either through WiFi or through your device's EDGE or 3G phone data network.

Distribution Options:

Paid distribution means that your app can be distributed in app stores as a paid app. You are responsible for setting up accounts with the app store(s), determining the price, and you earn 100% of the revenues generated by the app.

In contrast, apps created under either of appMobi's free plans must be offered as free apps - they cannot be sold.

Startup Ad:

The "Prime" account includes a "splash screen" ad that is delivered by appMobi every time your app starts up. appMobi does not share the revenue from this ad with you.

iAD support:

Unless it is an open source app, you can add support for the Apple iAd to your appMobi app. You will still have to create an iAD account relationship under your Apple developer account and enable iADs on the Apple developer dashboard.

appMobi does not share in your iAD revenues. You keep 100% of the revenues your app generates with iAds.

Dynamic Data:

"Dynamic Data" refers to transient, changeable data that is hosted in the "cloud". If your app does not need access to any new information after you create it (for example, a calculator app), then there would be no need for dynamic data updating.

In contrast, if your app needs to access a web server to get information (for example, to check inventory or get sports scores), then your app will need to be able to access data dynamically.

Free app accounts can optionally access dynamic data, on a "pay-as-you-go" basis. Paid accounts include a base level of access included in the plan, with metered charges for bandwidth overage.

Amazon CloudFront for Edge Caching:

appMobi’s integration of the Amazon CloudFront technology provides developers and businesses an easy way to distribute content to end users with low latency, high data transfer speeds, and no long-term commitments.

Normally, incorporating edge-caching into a web site or mobile app is both technically challenging and expensive in terms of multi-thousand dollar monthly bandwidth commitments – with appMobi, edge caching is as easy as saying you want it and there is no long term contract or monthly minimum of bandwidth usage.

appMobi with Amazon CloudFront delivers your content using a global network of edge locations. Requests for your content are automatically routed to the nearest edge location, so content is delivered with the best possible performance

Transfer:

Transfer refers to the bandwidth your app uses when it accesses resources, such as video, music, or graphics that you have chosen to store on appMobi's servers.

As an example, If your app causes 1 megabyte of data to be transferred every time it is run, the transfer bandwidth cost will be 50 cents for every 1000 times the app is run.

This is a great reason to adhere to appMobi's recommended practice of putting as much of the data your app uses as possible into the app's local storage - it will work faster, and you'll incur no transfer charges for local data.

appMobi’s Amazon S3 Storage Component:

appMobi has deployed Amazon's S3 Storage which provides a simple web services interface that can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web.

It gives any developer access to highly scalable, reliable, secure, fast, inexpensive infrastructure to run its web sites. The service aims to maximize benefits of scale and to pass those benefits on to developers.

Analytics:

This option allows you access to analytics data on your app's usage, user flow, and other activity that you decide to track. Analytics are considered essential for any serious business app.

Support:

General support for the Basic API set is via the public appMobi forums. Higher account tiers offer advanced, direct technical support with timely response.

Free App Plans
appMobi offers two different free development plans for you to choose from. The Open Source plan is best for fire-and-forget free apps. The Prime plan allows you to distribute your app for free in the App Store and/or Android Market and they may include ecommerce, iAds or be tracked with analytics.

Paid App Plans
There are also two paid development plans available for paid distribution in the App Store and/or Android Market. The Elite plan offers several à la carte addOns, while Ultimate is the all-inclusive plan that gives you everything appMobi has to offer at a single discounted, monthly price point.
